D-Day.

The time clicked 6.30 when the alarm clock chimed signaling an early start to the day. It was the day. Hours and hours of palm sweating practice came down to this very few minutes of fate; and luck.

Beaming with confidence and cheered on by his friends, he entered the compound with a new friend- courage. He was to battle this demon, and win, even if that means it took his life as well. Seconds ticked by, minutes crept by. He sat there in the hall, awaiting the summon of destiny. Pondering on the possibilities of what he was about to face.

When the time came, he tottered across into the metal scalp of a machine. Bidding Lady Luck to accompany him. The machine started with a jerk, and he took off. The journey went well, and it was a 200 dollars well spent.

Then came the second part. Waiting. As many more of his kind waited for their turn in line to face their last test before exposed to the outer realm. Some came back heads drooped down; but many hippy hopped their way back, in their hands holding a blue slip which admits them a place in the community of the machine controllers.

After another hour of bearing the hot gleaming sun, it was finally his turn. He went up the hill and down again. It was the first of three to get over with. And it was the second which was the easiest. Steering his way to success, he went on to finishing the last of the trilogy. Passing all three, he like many of the others, have passed.

He is now, officially, a licensed car driver =)
